Las Vegas, NV… May 5, 2011 The Hospitality Design Exposition and Conference (HD Expo), May 18 – 20, 2011 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, will present noted interior designer and color expert Zara Stender, CMG a one-hour intensive lecture. Set for Friday, May 20 at 10:00 am, “Color Trends Through 2012 – Plus the Psychology of Color in Culture” will reveal the direction of color for the next three years. Stender will explain how color trends evolve through economic, political and world events influencing the “globalization” of color palettes.
Zara will lead participants in an exploration of the biological and psychological impact of color palettes. What happens to the effect of colors when merged in various combinations? How do cultural influences sway change in how color is perceived? How important are cultural preferences? How do you select palettes when there is no “one size fits all?” What are the colors that must be avoided?
A Certified Interior Designer with over thirty years of applied research on color in the built environment, Zara Stender brings new life and practical anecdotes to her informative and entertaining interactive lectures. Zara Stender is a Chairholder with the Color Marketing Group (CMG), an international, not-for-profit Association of Color Designers. She is a member of the Interior Design Society (IDS) and Past-President of the Northern California Chapter. She serves on the CCIDC Board of Directors and the Editorial Advisory Board of STIR Magazine. Her columns and articles are published in many local, national, and international publications and she often lectures on trends in color and interior design.
