Color Marketing Group presents “Jaggery” – a creamy hue embraced often for interior color schemes, is making its way into fashion as a subtle counterpoint to bold statements. Named from Palm Sugar, during the Asia/Pacific Summit meeting, this hue is sweet without being sticky and pale without being lackluster.
It is a color of consideration, one that is at once healing, fresh and mindful. When seen in a sheer fabric, the color takes on a diaphanous quality but the hue can lighten the appearance of any surface from suede to fur to metal and takes on a special lustre when done as a metallic or pearl effect.
Nail lacquers, handbags and other accessories are joining the catwalk looks in embracing a hue that is more interesting than mere white but can also complement white, khaki, black and almost any other color. From couture to casualwear, fashion has taken a shine to this luscious cream; even style leader, the Duchess of Cambridge has been seen wearing it!
With its ability to take on new guises with each new material and with different finishes, Jaggery isn’t an ordinary neutral, it is a new, pale hue to stand on its own.
CMG’s Color Alert, is an exciting, monthly feature from Color Marketing Group, illuminating one of its “World Palette” forecast colors and validating the prediction in the market.
As a color litmus test, and drawing from European, Latin American, North American and Asia/Pacific directional palettes, Color Alert brings CMG’s directional color stories to life, whether seen on store shelves, cruising along highways or strutting fashion runways.
Color Marketing Group holds international color workshops (called ChromaZones) and summit meetings to determine color direction approximately two years in advance, depending on industry. For instance, colors for 2014 were discussed in 2012. As the year unfolds it’s time for the colors to arrive, as well.
Color Marketing Group is ready to share the excitement of color on an international scale and Color Alert lets the world know that CMG members are spot on with color direction. The eyes of its members are keen on the current emergence of color while staying focused on future hues.
Knowledge, discovery, direction and affirmation make Color Marketing Group the premier international association for color design professionals and Color Alert allows us to share it with the world.
