Leslie Jee Designs is a fashion-forward textile company which designs, develops, and distributes a line of residential upholstery textiles to furniture manufacturers and fabric jobbers in the U.S. and Canada. Since its first introduction in December 2009, the company has experienced exponential growth. This is a full-time position located at their headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA.

The Technical Textile Designer would be responsible to:
Develop technical specifications via CAD & communicate them to our mills for creation, corrections, and approvals.
Troubleshoot quality issues & devise solutions with regards to construction & yarn performance.
Edit artwork for weaving and/or print (must be able to clean, separate, create repeats, and color simulations) in CAD.
Apply advance knowledge of woven textile construction details (including weaves, pattern, and repeat) to create CAD files to submit to vendors.
Ensure all products are developed in a manner consistent with established aesthetic, quality standards/specifications, manufacturer capabilities, and cost.
Interpret & create patterns & colors directly relating to the trend direction set by the Design Director.
Be proactive in creating appropriate designs in a variety of design styles.
Assist in identifying current color trends & applying them appropriately for each market.
Assist in all aspects of the design process and provide support as needed.
Take initiative to maintain all documentation & work collaboratively for an effective team environment.
Maintenance of all color, yarn, and weave libraries as well as art archives.
Track and manage workflow and workload to ensure product development is progressing to meet product specifications and deadlines, while adhering to aesthetic standards.
Collaborate and develop close working relationships within the company and with vendors to ensure quality, delivery, and ethical business practices are achieved and upheld.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
An outstanding candidate would have:
Unquestionable ethics and values
College degree in related field, plus a minimum of 3-5 years related work experience
CAD expertise; EAT preferable
Full knowledge of/ability to specify yarns, and create weaves and constructions to meet quality standards
Excellent sense of style and color (portfolio required)
Strong organizational, detailed planning and project management skills
Strong sense of urgency; able to execute, proactive and self-motivated
Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, listening
Team-oriented approach as a valuable contributor to a collaborative environment
Capability and enthusiasm to travel domestically and internationally.
