NCS Colour is now taking their colour educations a step further as they are invited to one of the top 10 architecture schools in the USA to share their colour expertise to design and architect students at the University of Texas at Austin. “As we’ve been actively working for professional colour educations worldwide, the USA feels like a natural step.” says Berit Bergström.
During three days Berit Bergström will be holding both lectures and workshops on the strategic use of colour, and how it can impact the design and functionality of an architectural space significantly. With talks about the importance of colour perception and how color knowledge can be used as a design and communication tool, she is hoping to create awareness about colour to obtain desired outcomes. Both for interior and exterior spaces.
”To colourise is complex as it should contribute to a functioning whole. For instance, how do I know how a colour will look on the wall in a room together with other details, colors and light and what will the finished facade look like? During these days I will give the participants knowledge about the various factors that will affect the experience of a selected colour. As well as giving them tools to communicate colour concepts in a straightforward manner to facilitate the design process.” says Berit Bergström.
The University of Texas at Austin is one of the nation’s largest and most respected universities with almost 51,000 students yearly. A few notable alumni are Craig Dykers and Elaine Molinar of Snøhetta, C. William Brubaker, former President of Perkins + Will and Fernando Belaúnde Terry, architect and former president of Peru. For NCS Colour to be invited as colour experts is a great honor, explains Berit Bergström.
The courses will be held the 26, 28 and 29th of March 2015 at the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
